[ Migration · Affinity → Attio ]

Leaving Affinity for Attio? We'll get you out clean.

Built for VC funds. Every object mapped, a parallel run before cutover, and straight answers about what transfers and what doesn't.

[ Why funds are moving ]

A modern product, moving fast

Attio ships weekly: native AI research, call intelligence, and an interface your team won't fight. Affinity's pace hasn't kept up.

Real custom objects

Funds, LPs, commitments, co-investors, all modeled as first-class objects instead of list workarounds stretched past their limits.

A production-grade API + SDK

We're engineers; this is why we bet on Attio. Anything missing can be built: an automation, an integration, or a full app inside the CRM.

Cost that scales sanely

Per-seat pricing that doesn't punish you for adding the whole investment team.

[ Channel diagnostic · what transfers ]

Object by object, exactly where your Affinity data lands, and the two places it can't follow you.

OrganizationsCompanies

Direct mapping, deduped on domain during import.

PersonsPeople

Direct. Affinity allows multiple company links; Attio uses a primary company plus reference attributes, so we classify each link.

OpportunitiesDeals

Most funds pack stage + pass reason into one Status field. We split it into Stage, Pass reason, and a Legacy status attribute so no history is lost.

ListsLists / custom objects / attributes

Each list gets classified first: working queue → Attio list; roster (LPs, co-investors) → custom object; fund-proxy or tag lists → global attributes.

NotesTimeline entries

Affinity notes can attach to several records at once; Attio notes are single-record. We anchor each note and cross-reference the rest.

Custom fieldsAttributes

Types, options, and values carry over.

Email & calendar historyNative inbox sync

Attio's own sync rebuilds history for active team members. For someone who has left, it depends on your email provider and whether the mailbox is still live, archived, or deleted. Sync the account once while it's active and that history stays in Attio afterwards.

FilesAttio files or Google Drive

Your call: we migrate files straight into Attio, or into your Google Drive with folders linked from the matching records.

PermissionsRebuilt in Attio

Access models differ, so permissions are rebuilt intentionally rather than copied blind.

Field-change history

Attio's audit trail starts at migration. We archive the full Affinity export so nothing is ever unrecoverable.

Affinity's proprietary enrichment

Licensed data doesn't transfer, and it goes stale anyway. Attio has its own enrichment fields that cover some of the same ground. Re-enriching from live sources like Clay or Harmonic is separate work, not part of the migration.

[ How the migration runs ]

  1. 01

    Attribute review & classification

We inventory every field, list, and status in your Affinity instance and decide, with you, what each one becomes in Attio.

  2. 02

    Schema build + dry-run import

The Attio workspace is built, then a full trial import runs, keyed on Affinity's legacy IDs so re-runs upsert instead of duplicating.

  3. 03

    Team onboarding + inbox connect

The team connects email and calendar so native sync starts rebuilding interaction history while you still work in Affinity.

  4. 04

    Cutover with delta upsert

A final delta import catches everything that changed since the dry run. Validation counts are checked object by object before anyone switches.

  5. 05

    Dedupe & merge pass

Domain- and email-keyed dedupe across the merged dataset, with a human review on anything ambiguous.

  6. 06

    Then the system gets better

Migration is the first backlog item, not the engagement. Enrichment, signals, and automations start the week after cutover.

On an Affinity contract? They typically require 30 days' notice to cancel, and the migration takes about two weeks, so you can be fully moved before you ever give notice. We recommend starting 60 days out. Tighter than that, we can expedite.

[ Funds that made the move ]

We've been working with Nick and the Dialed Tech team for a few months now, and they've been fantastic. They handled our entire Attio migration in just a few weeks - which was incredibly fast - and continue to help us with ongoing maintenance, workflows, and imports. What I love about them is that they're highly technical but never make you feel like you're out of your depth. They explain things clearly and are genuinely easy to communicate and collaborate with.
Dana Chamorro · VP of IT @ Redpoint
With the CRM being mission critical for us, having them made us confident we'd be able to migrate platforms seamlessly.
